My first Arizona wedding was an experience I'll always treasure. From the moment I met Mike and Ming, I knew their wedding would be something special. Their warmth, kindness, and excitement made the entire weekend a joy to photograph.
Their celebration took place at Palm Valley Community Center in Goodyear, Arizona, a beautiful venue with a lovely outdoor ceremony space and plenty of picturesque locations for family portraits and romantic wedding photographs. One of the things I always recommend—and whenever possible, attend—is the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. It allows me to become familiar with the people, locations, and timeline so that your wedding day flows as smoothly as possible.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the home of close friends of the couple. The outdoor patio was especially beautiful, with warm architectural panels that softened the afternoon sunlight and created a perfect setting for relaxed portraits of the bride, groom, and their guests. The delicious meal was catered by 3 Brisketeers, who also handled the wedding-day catering.
On the wedding day, my team and I arrived ready to capture every meaningful moment. Tyler, who has assisted me at weddings for more than twenty years, traveled to Arizona to work alongside me. We were also joined by Brinn, who was photographing - and attending-her very first wedding. Together, we documented every detail, emotion, and celebration while ensuring the couple and their families felt comfortable and cared for throughout the day.
The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, and family portraits went smoothly thanks to the wonderful cooperation of everyone involved. As the day moved toward sunset, we slipped away to the golf course behind the venue for some private portraits. Arizona delivered an unforgettable sunset, with the sky transitioning from warm golden tones to a rich, vibrant blue in just minutes. The dramatic colors created some of my favorite images from the entire wedding day.
One of the most memorable aspects of the reception was the entertainment. In addition to dancing and celebration, guests enjoyed a performance by comedian Randy Hausner of Clean Comedy USA, who kept everyone laughing throughout the evening. DJ Tony Jr. expertly guided the reception and kept the energy high from start to finish.
Mike and Ming's wedding was a perfect example of what makes weddings so meaningful: family, friendship, laughter, beautiful moments, and a couple deeply in love. It was an honor to document the beginning of their new chapter together.
